Infrastructural Urbanism

Modern high-performance infrastructures produce accidental spaces at their borders or in the shadow of their own spatial configuration. It is a kind of shadow city, that develops next to highways, railway lines, highways, pipelines, line routes - urban space, which is not clearly defined and rarely planned. Where car parking spaces, rubbish bins, and distance areas are created, the city is squandering on countless numbers. This "waste" rarely gets its own name or address: Under bridges. At the parking lot. At the railway line. Behind the stadium. At the sewage treatment plant. Place descriptions that could be everywhere and could not be more nonspecific.
